Your Engine Oil

Engine Oil Check

Note that the basic functions of engine oils includes lubricating (or reducing the friction), cooling, sealing, cleaning and serving as protection for moving parts. It also inhibits rust and corrosion to protect engine components from regular wear and tear.

So, make sure your engine oil is regularly changed every 6 months or 10,000 kms whichever comes first and/or as per Manufacturer’s recommendation.

Easiest way to check the quality of your Engine Oil:

1.) Grab a piece of tissue.

2.) Pop up your bonnet/hood

3.) Pull up the engine dipstick

4.) Wipe it with the tissue

5.) Look at the color of engine oil from the tissue (compare with the image above)

The visual illustration above is only applicable to Petrol/Gasoline Engine (aka Spark Engine) only.

A, B, C, D, E = Engine Oil – OK

F, G = Must Change Oil
